Serious Competition Meets Fun at Widiatmika Vocational School’s Mid-Semester Event

JIMBARAN – Widiatmika Vocational School once again held its Mid-Semester Activity (KTS), bringing together a series of exciting competitions over three days, from Wednesday to Friday, March 12–14, 2025. This year’s event introduced a greater variety of contests, combining both sports and arts in a highly engaging and energetic competition. Students and teachers participated in various events, including makeup and fashion, painting relays, Free Fire, dodgeball, and futsal.

According to Apriyanus Faahakho Dodo Harefa, chairman of the KTS committee, this year’s theme, “United in Sportsmanship, Shining in Creativity” was chosen to not only provide entertainment but also help students explore and develop their talents.

“This year’s KTS is slightly different. While last year’s event focused more on sports, we introduced art competitions with sub-themes inspired by Nyepi and Ramadan. For example, the makeup and fashion contest showcased Balinese traditional makeup alongside Muslim fashion styling,” said Apriyanus.

From the very first day, the competitive spirit was evident. Participants gave their best performances, while supporters cheered enthusiastically, adding to the excitement. The involvement of teachers in several competitions made the event even more engaging, strengthening the connection between students and educators.

This year’s KTS featured four main teams: the Hospitality Team, the Visual Communication Design (DKV) Team, the Culinary Team, and the Teacher Team. The competition was fierce, with each team showcasing their best efforts. The Hospitality Team emerged as the overall champion, securing the rotating trophy after dominating several major categories, including painting relay, Balinese traditional makeup and fashion, dodgeball, and boys’ futsal. They dethroned the Teacher Team, which had previously held the title.

Apriyanus emphasized that KTS was more than just about competition; it was a platform for students to express their talents, develop sportsmanship, and strengthen teamwork.

“We want students to embrace values such as sportsmanship, creativity, and collaboration. Through KTS, we hope they will not only excel academically but also develop strong character to face future challenges,” he concluded.
