BENOA — A proud achievement was once again recorded by a student of Widiatmika Kindergarten. Janette Moolman, a student from class TK B1, won first prize in a drawing competition held as part of the Arma Festival Magnificent 5th on Monday, 14 April 2025.
This victory was not just a personal accomplishment for Janette, but also a reflection of Widiatmika Kindergarten's educational approach that emphasizes holistic development of children’s talents and interests. Janette's achievement is the result of a strong synergy between the school, teachers, and parents in creating a learning ecosystem that supports every child's potential.
In the competition, Janette impressed the judges with her environmentally themed drawing that portrayed two siblings working together to clean up trash in their yard. With strong imagination and neat execution, Janette successfully delivered a message about cleanliness, collaboration, and environmental care.
"My drawing may look simple," said Janette, "but when it's connected to the theme, it becomes a powerful and meaningful picture. I'm very happy! I hope this can be a motivation to keep learning and achieving, especially since I love drawing."
Ni Ketut Tantri Wiadi, Vice Principal of PAUD Widiatmika, said Janette’s talent in drawing had already been visible since the first semester. Her parents also played an active role by providing her with space and tools to support her interest at home. The school contributed by offering regular arts extracurricular activities.
"At PAUD Widiatmika, we combine thematic learning, hands-on practice, and art appreciation. Children don’t just learn theory—they are also given space to express themselves through activities like dancing, painting, and modeling. All of this is carried out through close collaboration between teachers, parents, and extracurricular instructors," explained Tantri.
The school holds art extracurricular sessions every Friday to balance academic and non-academic aspects. In addition, classroom learning themes are designed to integrate with art activities, giving students a more complete and enjoyable learning experience.
For Tantri, Janette’s success is a source of pride for the entire school community. This achievement is seen as proof that consistent guidance and the right educational approach can help children reach their full potential.
"This accomplishment reflects the quality of our education, which focuses on nurturing students’ interests and talents. It also serves as motivation for us to continue building a creative, inspiring, and achievement-oriented learning environment," she concluded.
